Tour de Submariner

Tour de Submariner are setting out on an epic cycling route to raise money for HELP. We’ll be posting lots more about this amazing challenge!

“What is it exactly that we’re doing? In August - September 2022, we will be taking on the Tour de France 2020 route. Why the 2020 route? This is the year that Captain Jim Simpson, whose memory we will be riding in, very sadly took his own life. We will be sharing more information on Jim and the charity we are fundraising for in the next couple of days. The 2020 route is a mountainous route (lucky us!), that follows a clockwise loop through the Provence, Cevennes and Pyrenees before heading north for a stint on the Atlantic coast after the first rest day. A central crossing through the Massif Central leads to the final week in the Alps with an individual time trial extension on La Planche des Belles Filles as the ultimate uphill test >> swipe across to check out the climb profile..

We’ll be replicating the route and distances covered each day on the Tour de France, so we’re looking at 23 days on the road (inclusive of 2 rest days), with 3,848km to be covered and over 50,000m of elevation.

So essentially… quite a lot of riding, a ‘little’ hilly, but on the bright side - we won’t have to do any route planning!”

UPDATE: The team completed the challenge and raised £6,636 for HELP! I am sure everyone can agree that this was one incredible challenge and an incredible amount of money raised for HELP - Jim's Story. Thank you so much to the whole Tour de Submariner team . You are all awesome
